• Night train Maastricht - Schiphol

  Once a week from Friday to Saturday, Arriva operates a night train from Maastricht to Schiphol (and intermediate stations). On Saturday morning, the train departs from Schiphol back to Maastricht. Tickets are only available via the travel app glimble. 
  This means you cannot use your OV-chipkaart, OVpay season tickets or student OV-card to make this journey.

• Travelling within the Euregio Meuse-Rhine
  • You can check in with your OV chipkaart (public transport pass) of OVpay to board the RE18 Arrivatrain line, which will take you from Maastricht to Aachen in under an hour. The train departs from Maastricht for Aachen once every hour. The same applies when it departs from Aachen to Maastricht.
  • Arriva's ‘Euregioticket’ is a convenient way of travelling by bus or train through the Meuse-Rhine region – and it only costs €23.50 a day. You can purchase the ticket from the bus driver, at the machine at the station, from official Arriva or NS service points, or online in the Arriva webshop. A week or weekend ticket is available. At weekends and on German, Dutch, and Belgian public holidays, the Euregio ticket is valid for up to two adults and three children aged between four and eleven.
• Gast Vrij OV for tourists in Vaals, Gulpen-Wittem and Valkenburg aan de Geul

  Are you staying overnight in Vaals, Gulpen-Wittem or Valkenburg aan de Geul this summer? Then you travel free by train and bus outside peak hours. This is possible thanks to the Gast Vrij OV campaign.

  You receive a voucher code through your accommodation. With this code, you can travel freely on regional public transport with Arriva throughout South Limburg.

  The pilot runs from 13 July through October 2026. Afterwards, the parties involved will evaluate the results. They will look into whether Gast Vrij OV can grow into a permanent offer for overnight tourists throughout South Limburg.
  Gast Vrij OV is a collaboration between the Province of Limburg, Arriva, the participating municipalities and local businesses.

To and from the station

Maastricht's main railway station is just outside the city centre, and you can travel to and from the station in different ways. 

• On foot

  Maastricht is a compact city. Maastricht's main railway station is just one kilometre from Vrijthof square. You can also reach the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Wyck within ten minutes and cross Sint Servaasbrug bridge to the old town

• By bicycle
  • For shorter distances, you can rent a conventional bicycle (an ‘OV-fiets’) or an e-bike from the underground bicycle parking facility at the station. At Maastricht Randwyck Station and Maastricht North Station, you will find the OV-fiets in the bicycle lockers. Alternatively, you can use the Arriva shared bikes, which are parked at a number of locations across Maastricht.
  • You can park your bicycle at the underground bicycle-parking facility at the railway station for free for the first 24 hours. You will need a public transport pass (‘OV-chipkaart’) to check in to the facility and park and collect your bicycle. If you don't have a pass, you can collect a free temporary pass from one of the employees at the facility.
• By bus

  A five-minute bus journey brings you to the centre of Maastricht, Markt, and the Town Hall (just five minutes away from Vrijthof square). The bus takes you to the city centre within five minutes. 
  In the direction of the city centre, disembark at bus stop Mosae Forum/Centrum. When returning to the railway station, board the bus at bus stop Boschstraat/Markt.

• By taxi

  There are several taxi ranks right in front of the station.

• By car 
  • You drive by car yourself or you need to park the car:
    The P+R next to Maastricht's main railway station (Parallelweg 15) has low-cost parking spaces. You pay a fixed rate of €16 per day. If you continue your journey by train with a public transport pass (‘OV-chipkaart’) or NS Business Card, you’ll receive a discount on parking.
  • You let yourself be dropped off - kiss & ride: 
    At the 'back' of the station on Meerssenerweg, there are kiss & ride parking spaces where you can briefly park to drop someone off or wait for someone.
    Entrance to the kiss-and-ride parking area is located opposite house numbers 303–305 on Meerssenerweg.
