I take the train
Maastricht has excellent rail links. The Dutch railways (NS) operates Intercity trains toward Eindhoven, Utrecht, Amsterdam, while Arriva operates trains toward Sittard, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Aachen, and Roermond. You can also use the train service provided by the National Railway Company of Belgium to travel to Visé and Liège (NMBS).

Various operators provide rail connections from Maastricht's main railway station:

- RS11 Nijmegen - Venray - Venlo – Roermond
- RS12 Roermond - Sittard - Maastricht Randwyck
- RS15 Sittard - Heerlen – Kerkrade Centrum
- RS18 Stopping train Maastricht Randwyck - Valkenburg – Heerlen
- RE18 Fasttrain Maastricht – Valkenburg – Heerlen - Aachen Hbf. (Duitsland)
- Night train Maastricht - Sittard - Roermond - Weert- Eindhoven - Den Bosch - Utrecht - Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport
- The National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS) operates a train service to Visé and Liège (Belgium).
You check in and out with your OV-chipkaart, or with OVpay using your debit card, credit card or phone. You can also travel with the glimble app or a single train ticket.

Please note: always check the websites of NS and Arriva to know the departure time of your last train and to ensure you are aware of any delays or replacement transport. On the transport operators’ websites, you will also find the current fares.
The Arriva network map is also available on the Arriva website, so you can see which route the train or bus takes.
