Bicycle parkings Maastricht

Coming to Maastricht by bike? In and around the city centre, you will find various options to park your bike safely and conveniently. From supervised bicycle parking facilities to bike racks in public spaces, there is always a suitable place for your bike.

General tips

Do you have a little more time? Then park your bicycle on the edge of the city centre. These parking facilities are free and supervised:

  • Kesselskade
  • Market
  • Station
    Free for the first 24 hours, then 1.50 euro per day.
    You can easily check in and out with your public transport pass or (digital) debit card.

There is also an underground, unguarded bicycle parking facility at the Vrijthof.

Need to park quickly?

Put your bike in a bike rack, bike shed or marked space. You will find these in several places around the city.
Is a bike shed full? Then follow the green bike signs to the nearest available space.

Can't find a spot?

Are all the racks, parking facilities and bays full? Here's how to park your #posifiets and keep things pleasant for everyone in the city:

  • Leave at least 1 metre free on the pavement
  • Choose a safe spot
  • Do not block fire lanes or fire escape routes

Maximum parking time & removal of bicycles

In the city centre and Wyck, there is a maximum parking time of two consecutive weeks in bicycle racks and bicycle parking facilities in public spaces.

You may park your bicycle in secure bicycle sheds during opening hours, with a maximum of 24 hours.

If you leave your bicycle parked for longer than this, it may be removed. You will first receive a warning label. If the bicycle is still removed, you can collect it from the bicycle depot for a fee of €50.

Park your bicycle #posifiets in Maastricht in one of the parking facilities in the city centre. You can do this in the covered parking facilities or in the bicycle racks.

Supervised bicycle parking

Some of our bike parkings are marked as "monitored," such as Kesselskade, Markt, and the station. This means staff is present, sometimes supported by security cameras. Please note: Despite the physical presence of parking staff, theft cannot be completely ruled out. We advise you to always use a good lock and, if possible, secure the bicycle frame to a fixed object. In the Markt facility, your bicycle is taken in by staff and therefore not locked.
