Park your bicycle in the correct location
A neat, safe and accessible city centre starts with good bicycle parking. In Maastricht, you will find covered parking facilities, racks and marked spaces in many places. This way, your bicycle is safe, you keep the pavement clear and the city remains pleasant for everyone.
Covered parking spaces
Staff are present at the bicycle parking facilities on Kesselskade, Markt and Station, sometimes supplemented by cameras. This increases security, but does not completely rule out theft. Therefore, always use a good lock and secure your frame to a fixed structure. Please note: At the parking facility on Markt, your bicycle will be taken by staff and not locked.
The Vrijthof underground car park is unattended and intended for short-term parking.
Need a place quickly?
For short visits, you can use the bicycle racks, parking facilities and marked spaces scattered throughout the city. Follow the dark green signs to the nearest location. If a parking facility is full, follow the green bicycle signs to another location.
How long can you leave your bicycle parked?
In the city centre and Wyck, the rule is: a maximum of two weeks in public racks or compartments, and a maximum of 24 hours in managed parking facilities. If your bicycle is parked for too long, you will first receive a warning label. After that, it may be removed. Collection costs 50 euros at the Fietsdepot at Gerardusweg 39.

If everything is really full, be considerate of others when parking your bicycle:
- Leave at least one metre of pavement free.
- Never block a fire lane, staircase or passageway.
- Choose a safe spot where it won't bother anyone.
Tip for the new year
Use the free and managed parking facilities at the Market, Kesselskade and the Station. This way, your bicycle will be safe and the city will remain tidy.
