Paid parking
Paid parking and parking for permit holders
Using Maastricht’s on-street parking, multistoreys, or car parks? Find all the information you need on paid parking in Maastricht for parking permit holders, disabled parking spaces, and parking on late-shopping evenings, Sundays, and public holidays.
Disabled parking spaces
There are disabled parking spaces in the city's various multistorey car parks and paid parking facilities. You can park for free in designated disabled parking spaces in the street without restriction with a valid (European) disability card.
Please note that this exemption does not apply to permit holders' spaces, disabled parking spaces for a specific license plate and in multistorey car parks. You must pay the regular hourly or daily rate in multistorey car parks.
With a disability parking card, you may park for free for the first 3 hours in regular paid parking spaces in Maastricht. After that, the normal parking rate applies. You must use the Parkeren Plus app for this. This is a special parking app for people with disabilities. With this app, you can register digitally in municipalities that are part of Parking Plus. Please note: the app can only be used by residents of municipalities that participate in Parking Plus. If you live in a municipality that is not connected, unfortunately you cannot use the app. You can download the app for free from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
In the app, you link your license plate to your parking card. You do this using the DigiD app. If your home municipality participates in Parkeren Plus, you can use the app in all participating municipalities to:
- park in regular paid parking spaces
- park for free for the first 3 hours (in many municipalities)
- start and stop parking sessions
- check the rules for parking with a disability parking card
Note: The app does not (yet) work with foreign license plates. We advise people with a foreign license plate to use their disability parking card and park in the designated disabled parking spaces in the meantime.
On the site of the municipality Maastricht (in Dutch) you will find public disabled parking spaces throughout Maastricht.
Safety Tips:
- Always lock your car, even if you are just stepping away for a moment.
- Always take valuable items like laptops, phones, and wallets with you.
- Do not just hide your belongings out of sight; take them with you.
