Welcome to Maastricht: get off to a good start

Are you starting your studies at Maastricht University or Zuyd University of Applied Sciences? From 17 to 21 August, the INKOM induction week will introduce you to Maastricht, its facilities and student life.

During the induction weeks, Maastricht City Council, Maastricht Bereikbaar and #posifiets will help you find your way around the city. You’ll receive practical information about transport, cycling and bicycle parking.

Information when and where you need it

There’s a lot to discover during your first few weeks. That’s why you’ll find useful information in several places, including:

  • the Welcome to Maastricht brochure;
  • the INKOM app;
  • social media channels of educational institutions, faculties and student organisations;
  • introduction days at your faculty or educational institution;
  • student accommodation providers and landlords;
  • information screens and newsletters;
  • the INKOM Welcome to Maastricht information market;
  • Swapfiets collection days;
  • UM Guesthouse and other introduction locations.

This means you can find the information again whenever you need it.

Practical information about cycling in Maastricht

Cycling is one of the easiest ways to get around Maastricht. We’ll help you understand:

  • where you can park your bike safely and responsibly;
  • which bicycle parking facilities are available;
  • where you can rent or buy a bike;
  • how to prevent your bike from being removed;
  • which traffic rules you need to know;
  • how to cycle safely through the city.

Much of this information is available in both Dutch and English.
