Film Fest Vaes is a film festival that takes place annually at Vaeshartelt Castle in Maastricht. The festival combines art, film and encounters in an accessible and surprising way. This year, there is also room for cycling.

The bicycle in the leading role

A notable part of the festival is the Bicycle Film Festival: an international travelling film festival that is now descending on Maastricht. Here, everything revolves around the bicycle - as a means of transport, as a symbol of freedom, and as a source of inspiration. The programme consists of short films and documentaries from all over the world, focusing on the love of the bicycle. The films show how the bicycle connects people and gets them moving.

Actions #posifiets

Of course, this Bicycle Film Festival was something #posifiets could not pass up. During the festival, the promotion team will be present every night and provide the parked bikes with saddle covers. They are also giving away three times two tickets. You can read more about it on their Instagram page. At the same time, there is a great collaboration with Swapfiets. On 12 June, leave for Vaeshartelt together with the #posifietsteam from the Swapfiets location at the railway station. You will receive a free set of bicycle lights and a cup of coffee from Blanche Dael upon arrival. A great start to your festival visit.

Live map

That accessibility is also important for Film Fest Vaes is shown by the fact that they have the Live Map on their website. On it, every visitor can see exactly which route to take to get to Kasteel Vaeshartelt. But it also shows public transport and parking spaces. But of course, visitors to the Bicycle Film Festival come by two-wheeler, right?
