Clementine wins a year of free bicycle parking

4 August 2026

During our prize campaign at Maastricht railway station’s bicycle parking facility, everyone parking their bike inside had the chance to win one year of free bicycle parking. The more often someone parked their bicycle and submitted an entry slip, the greater their chances of winning. One name appeared in the box very often: Clementine!

Clementine (32) lives in Geleen but works in Maastricht. Her eight-year-old daughter also goes to school in Maastricht. They travel to the city by train at least five times a week, and sometimes at weekends too. Once in Maastricht, they continue their journey together by bicycle, with her daughter riding on the back. Clementine parks her bicycle in the station’s bicycle parking facility with a season ticket.

She is very happy with the facility. There is always space, her bicycle is parked safely and staff are always on hand. Because she visits so often, she has got to know all the employees. Her daughter also enjoys helping them check cyclists in and out from time to time. “We often see the same familiar faces, which makes us feel at ease.”

The repair workshop is another major benefit for Clementine. The staff have helped her with practical matters such as fitting the child seat to her bicycle. As a working mother, she is delighted to have won a year of free bicycle parking and would happily recommend this centrally located, secure facility to others.

Congratulations, Clementine!
