I no longer need my bicycle

Give your bicycle a second life

Volunteers at the Fietsbank (Bike Bank) will fix your bicycle and give it to someone who can’t afford to buy one or to have their broken bicycle repaired in the usual manner. And voilà, your bicycle has a new owner! Any bicycles that cannot be repaired will be recycled.

Want to donate your bicycle or parts of it? Your options are:

  • Drop off your bike at the Fietsbank, Zoetmansstraat 75 (Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 3pm)
  • Call the Fietsbank on 06 - 222 796 43 for a pick-up appointment. (Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 3pm)

Why should you donate your bicycle?

Donating your bicycle gives someone else the chance to use it. Unused bicycles also take up space in racks or on the street, and the extra parking space created by removing them prevents unsafe situations. It also makes the city more liveable for everyone! #posifiets #letsdoittogether #bikemore #bikesafe #parksafe.

Do you need a bicycle? And don't have enough money to pay for it yourself?

There are several places to go in Maastricht if you need a bicycle. At the Kringloopwinkel you can buy a bicycle at a bargain price. At the Fietsbank, free bicycles are given away to people on low incomes. For this, you need an indication.

  • Do you need a children's bicycle? Then contact Stichting Leergeld. You can do this on Mondays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. by calling 043-3118810.
  • Do you need a bicycle for an adult? Then contact the Kredietbank Limburg, Social Affairs of the municipality or your administrator. They will do an income test and determine whether someone can get a free bicycle from the Fietsbank. For children's bicycles, there is currently a waiting list.
