André Rieu concerts at the Vrijthof

Are you coming to André Rieu’s summer concert at the Vrijthof? If you can, do cycle there! It’s a quick and sustainable way to get to the city centre.

Read below to find out where you can park your bike, which routes are available and what rules apply during the concert period.

Where can you park your bike?

Free, secure and covered bike parking facilities:

• Kesselskade – Open until 01.30 (may close earlier once the car park is full).
• Market – Normal opening hours:
  • Thursday until 10.00 pm
  • Friday and Saturday until 9.30 pm
  • Sunday until 7.00 pm
• Vrijthof - Available from around 4.30 pm and then not again until around 1.00 am.
  You can collect your bike via Helmstraat until 8.45 pm, accompanied by staff from the organising body.

Extra  parking facilities:

• Mosae Forum forecourt
• Keizer Karelplein*
• Pierre Kemppark (lawn next to the lift at the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein car park)
  
  * The temporary bicycle parking area on Keizer Karelplein will be removed on 20 July. Please collect your bike in good time!

Traffic arrangements around the Vrijthof

• Please note! The cycle racks on the Vrijthof will be removed on Tuesday 23 June 2026. Bicycles and mopeds left on the Vrijthof will be taken to the bicycle depot on Gerardusweg. The depot is open on Mondays from 09.00 to 16.30. Please also collect your bicycle from the mobile bicycle parking facility in good time before it is removed.
• In Leliestraat, Sporenstraat, Vijfharingenstraat and on the corner of Sint Amorsplein and Heggenstraat in Maastricht, cyclists and moped riders will be made particularly aware, from Monday 29 June to Sunday 19 July 2026, of the ban on on-street parking in force in these areas. Bicycles and mopeds will be removed on event days and taken to the Fietsdepot on Geradusweg.
• On concert days:
  Traffic measures will be in place around the Vrijthof on concert days to manage traffic flow.
  From 4.30 pm, the Vrijthof will therefore be closed to traffic until after midnight, once the concert has finished. The Q-park car park on the Vrijthof can be accessed via Keizer Karelplein – Sint Servaasklooster.
• Bicycles parked on the Vrijthof and Leliestraat (event site) will be removed by Maastricht City Council on event days.

Has your bike gone missing or been removed?

Removed bicycles are taken to the Bicycle Depot. You can collect your bicycle from there upon payment of €50.
