The Province of Limburg has had its own Arriva Nextbike station with ten shared bikes since April 2018. Patrick Souren, service desk coordinator for the Province of Limburg, told us that this was a conscious choice. ‘We were looking for an alternative to continue to meet the demand for shared bikes. Many of our employees were using our own bikes, so we opted for an Arriva Nextbike station next to our own premises.’
The end of the year is in sight. We're all looking forward to Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas Day), Christmas, and – of course – Magical Maastricht. Just like in other months, we'll be doing our best to make sure you can travel easily to, from, and within the city and region at this busy time. That's why this year we are offering several promotions that will allow you discounted travel to the centre. This way, we’ll reduce congestion levels for everyone.
Rijkswaterstaat (Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management) will close the entire Koning Willem-Alexander tunnel during the evenings and nights of Saturday 24 November and Sunday 25 November. All four tubes, for both the A2 and the N2, will be closed. In the following week, commencing 26 November, multiple night-time closures of the N2 tunnel tubes will follow in addition to closures of the exits and access slip roads at John F. Kennedysingel.
Cycling in the winter is not only enjoyable and healthy – it’s good for the environment too! Every time you cycle instead of driving, you contribute to a healthier environment because of the car emissions you save. Participate in the winter campaign and show us how you can withstand whatever the weather throws at you! By doing so, you can inspire others and stand a chance of winning great prizes.
The Noorderbrugtracé project will continue working on the redevelopment of the Boschstraat - Frontensingel and the conversion of the Brusselseweg roundabout between Fort Willemweg and Nobellaan until the beginning of December. In mid November, phase two of the construction work will begin at both locations. This will naturally lead to a number of changes for traffic.
