It is almost time for the INKOM of 2022. On August 22 Maastricht will welcome its new students with the Welcome to Maastricht Market where the cheerful red coloured presence of #posifiets can't be missed. After all, the cycling rules in the Netherlands, and particularly in Maastricht, are not evident to everyone and we want all students to experience a pleasant and safe stay in the city.
Of course, that includes parking your bike safely! This will prevent annoyance, inconveniences and possibly a fine. To promote and reward #safeparking we have some fun activities planned.
Obstacle Run and prize wheel
On the Tapijn terrain you will find #posifiets’ Obstacle Run. In Maastricht people regularly park outside the parking spaces and racks and this can lead to dangerous situations. Think for example of people with disabilities or a stroller who have to sidestep onto the street because there is not enough room on the sidewalk. You will experience what that feels like in person as you work your way through the Obstacle Run. To make it extra exciting, the participant with the fastest time of the day will receive a VVV voucher. Don't worry; even if you took a little longer, you’re allowed a spin on the prize wheel, where you can win fun gadgets.
How do I keep it #posifiets?
Well, to help new students get started, we've put together a nice flyer especially for the INKOM. Discover the handy map with all bike facilities in the city, check the rules for safe parking and find out where you can rent or buy a bike.
#posifiets wishes all new students a fantastic INKOM! See you in Maastricht.
