Summer campaign ‘Elke beweging telt’ (‘Every move counts’) ends with 60 prize winners
Did you spot the ‘Every move counts’ promotional team in South Limburg? During the recent summer months, they were hard at work rewarding people who travelled smart with prize draw codes. Everyone was able to contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by cycling, using public transport, walking, or travelling via a P+R. Close to 25,000 smart travellers received a prize draw code.
The prize draw codes gave people the chance to win great prizes such as a FitBit step counter, credit for a public transport pass (OV-chipkaart), a gift voucher to be used in Bever shops, or a month-long subscription for P+R Maastricht Noord. The grand prize was an e-bike worth €2,500! The lucky winner of the e-bike is Jolanda Kerstges from Geleen:'Winning the e-bike is absolutely fantastic! I've been planning to buy one for a while, so this is a really nice gift. Together with my husband, who is an enthusiastic cyclist, I will cycle through the beautiful hills of Limburg. With the help of the e-bike, we will be able to cycle further together. Now, I can also go cycling with my sister, as she also has an e-bike.I always take the train to work. The train connection between Geleen and Maastricht is ideal, and I live too far away to cycle, even with an e-bike!’ Jolanda, congratulations, and may you enjoy many safe miles!
Encouraging smart and sustainable travel
The prize winners were informed of their good fortune at the end of August. On Sunday 1 September, they were presented with their respective prizes in person at Bonhomme on Maaspromenade in Maastricht by Gert-Jan Krabbendam, chairman of the Maastricht Bereikbaar steering committee and member of the municipal executive of the municipality of Maastricht, who said ‘With this summer campaign, Maastricht Bereikbaar actively encourages people to get involved with the theme of sustainable mobility. We try to teach people about the impact of their everyday journeys.’
Nearly 25,000 smart travellers
During the past few weeks, the ‘Every move counts’ promotional team headed out 36 times to a number of locations in South Limburg. They arranged a number of activities including free trials of ‘Ontdek de e-bike’ (Discover the e-bike), courses on ‘het nieuwe rijden’ (the new way of driving), and opportunities for drivers to have their tyres checked and set to the right pressure. Maastricht Bereikbaar wanted to use the prizes to reward people for smart and sustainable travel, which also encourages others in their immediate environment to rethink using the car for every journey.
