Changes to parking rates Maastricht: park smart

From 1 January 2020, new fees for parking apply in Maastricht. If you travel to the centre of Maastricht by car, then make sure to choose the parking rate that matches the nature of your visit. Options include parking your car for a short time, close to your destination at a higher hourly rate; or parking for a longer period further away from your destination but at a lower hourly rate. Use our travel and parking tips to ensure that your journey to and from the city centre is as easy as possible.

The short-stay parking rate (number of minutes parked per euro) will be raised on 1 January 2020 for most multistorey car parks; the daily rate for the Frontenpark and Bonnefanten P+W car parks has been raised. The daily rates of the other car parks remain the same. Q-Park will manage P+W Stadspark car park as of 1 January 2020.

Travel and parking tips

  • If you travel via the motorway, then park at P+R Maastricht Noord for free. From there, you can travel to the city centre quickly and cheaply (a day return is €2 per person, and the group fare for 3-5 people is €5) on bus numbers 10 and 30. Up to two children between the ages of four and eleven can travel for free with a paying adult.
If you park at a P+R Maastricht location frequently, it's cheaper to take out a monthly subscription. Paying €25 per month entitles you to unlimited bus rides, seven days a week.
  • Our travel tip is to park on the side of the Meuse river that you are coming from to avoid traffic congestion on the Noorderbrug and John F. Kennedybrug bridges over the Meuse.
  • Always plan your journey ahead. Our Smart Map lists information regarding construction works in Maastricht, congestion levels, and the availability of parking spaces in car parks. It also shows the location of the car parks, so that you can choose the best place to park your car.
