Limited number of parking spaces at Frontenpark Maastricht
There will be a limited number of parking spaces available at P Frontenpark from 25 September 2023 to June 2024. The parking spaces will be temporarily removed as work is underway to extend P Frontenpark. This extension of P Frontenpark is required for the construction of the new, underground car park P Sphinx.
How many parking spaces will there be at P+W Frontenpark?
There will be a very limited number of parking spaces available from 25 September 2023 to June 2024.
Once work on the P+W is complete, there will be 600 more parking spaces by June 2024, bringing the total to 1,300 parking spaces. Before that date, visitors, residents, and commuters wishing to park in Sphinxkwartier and the city centre must use one of the city’s other car parks.
Alternative car parks in Maastricht
- Motorists can park at nearby car parks, such as P Fort Willem and Sphinx.
Our advice is to choose a car park located on your way to Maastricht:
- If you’re coming from the north, you can park for free on the outskirts at P+R Maastricht Noord and take the bus (day return €2.40 or €5.95 for a group ticket for 3-5 people) into the city.
- Other car parks near Sphinxkwartier and on the way to the city centre include Bassin, Mosae Forum, and De Griend. There are often plenty of spaces here, even on busy days.
In order to avoid queues and traffic, please plan your journey and pick the car park you wish to use in advance.
Travel by bicycle or public transport
Do you live in Maastricht or in the surrounding municipalities?
- If you're visiting the city center of Maastricht, consider using a bicycle instead of a car for short distances. There are convenient covered bike parking facilities available in the city center. You can also opt for shared bikes provided by Arriva or OV-fiets. In the Sphinxkwartier area, there is a bike-sharing station located near Pathé/Student Hotel.
- For those traveling from farther locations, it's recommended to use public transportation. Maastricht is easily accessible by train and bus from nearby towns and even from cities across the border. There are several bus routes that have stops directly or within a short walking distance from the Sphinxkwartier area. You can get off at the Boschstraat/Maagdendries bus stop, or slightly further at the Markt/Boschstraat stop. Some of the bus lines servicing these stops include 1, 3, 4, 5, 15, and also bus line 10 from P+R Maastricht Noord.
