Quickly to TEFAF in the MECC
From March 11 to 19, the art fair TEFAF with more than 275 dealers from 20 countries will be at MECC Maastricht. In 2023, there will be two private preview days on Thursday, March 9 and Friday, March 10. The art fair attracts an average of 70,000 visitors. Check out our travel tips to plan your trip to TEFAF.
By bike
Are you a resident or from the area? Then consider riding your bike. At the MECC there is a free bicycle parking area under the Maastricht Passage (in front of the MECC main entrance) or use one of the bicycle racks around the MECC.
By public transport
- Maastricht Randwyck Station is 250 meters away from the MECC. You can reach this station with the Arriva trains from Roermond and Heerlen. Consult www.9292ov.nl for up-to-date travel information.
- From Maastricht central station you have train connections to Eindhoven/Amsterdam, Brussels and Aachen/Cologne.
- From Maastricht central station you can easily travel to MECC by bus, there are several lines where you can get off at the Forum MECC stop. For more information visit www.arriva.nl/limburg. Pay with your OV-chipcard, buy your ticket online or pay in the bus.
By car
- The address is: MECC, Forum 100, 6229 GV Maastricht.
- On highway A2 coming from the north take exit 55 Randwyck/MECC/MUMC+. Coming from the south take exit 56 Gronsveld.
- From the exit, follow the signs to MECC to find a parking space near the art fair. There are several parking lots -and lots (P1, P2, P3, P5, P6 and P9) near the MECC at maximum 10 minutes walking distance from the fair. Parking tickets cost €19 per day.
- Near MECC Maastricht, traffic controllers point the way to the available parking garages. Always follow their instructions.
Additional cab and hotel shuttle service
From June 25 through June 30, there will be additional facilities for easy travel to and from your hotel, train station or airport. The Stichting Samenwerkende Hotels Maastricht (SAHOT) will provide a hotel shuttle to their hotels. Ask your hotel about the possibilities to use this shuttle service.
Via P+R Maastricht Noord
You can also use P+R Maastricht Noord. There you can park for free and continue your journey by bus line 10 4 times per hour for € 2.40 price p.p. for a day return to Randwyck (get off and on at Forum MECC), a group ticket for 3-5 people costs € 5.95. By train you can get to Randwyck Station twice an hour at the regular public transport rate.
Travel tips to the center

The parking garages in the center often fill up quickly, especially on weekends. With the tips below, you'll save travel time looking for a parking location and therefore have more time in the center. You can also choose to park nearby, but keep in mind that the parking location of your choice may be full and you will therefore face long(er) queues and extra travel time.

- From the A2 or A79: park for free at P+R Maastricht Noord. You can get to the city centre on bus number 10 for €2.40 (day return), or take bus number 30 to the main railway station/Wyck. Bus line 3 runs via Nazareth, Groene Loper, city centre to Wolder. A group ticket for groups of three to five people costs €5.95. Up to two children between the ages of four and eleven can travel for free with a paying adult.

- Choose a parking location on your route: De Griend, P+R Station, De Colonel, Plein 1992. To access these parking locations, follow the parking routes ‘Wyck-Station’ and ‘Céramique-Wyck’.

Take the N2 tunnel northbound from Akersteenweg/John F. - If you’re coming from Belgium, follow Brusselseweg in Smeermaas and enter Maastricht via Belvédèrelaan. You’ll get to Maastricht faster, and you won’t have to wait at the ramp meter on Bosscherweg. Take the same road on your way back – it’s just as quick.
