Safe tour of the city!

Most locations in our country reopened on Wednesday 26 January under conditions. More is possible again, but the coronavirus is not going away. Stay alert and help each other. That way, we can move forward together. The rules apply at least until 8 March. On this page you can read what this means for a visit to Maastricht.

More information about the national corona measures can be found on the website of the Dutch government.

Tips for a safe trip around town

  • On weekends, choose the morning hours or opt for the weekdays. Mondays through Thursdays are less crowded in the city. Wednesday and Friday are market days.
  • Go exploring in surprising side streets in Wyck, the Jekerk Quarter, Stokstraat Quarter or the trendy Sphinx Quarter.
  • Get on your pedals and come to town by bike. You can find bicycle parking in Maastricht at the Market, the Station, Mosae Forum, along the Kesselskade and the Vrijthof.
  • If you come by car, park in the nearest parking lot so you don't have to search for it or drive unnecessarily through the city.
  • From the A2/A79 motorway P+R Maastricht Noord is the best option. You park for free and travel for € 2.25 return with bus 10 to the center (get off at the Mosae Forum or Boschstraat/Maagdendries stop) or with bus 30 to the station/Wyck. If you are travelling in a group, it is cheaper to buy a group ticket for 3-5 persons for € 5.55.
  • Park on the outskirts of the city for a fixed daily rate at a P+W car park near the Frontenpark, Stadspark or P Bonnefanten. Less crowded are usually the Griend, Plein 1992 or the Colonel.
