Hurry to Maastricht for the Amstel Gold Race
The Vrijthof in Maastricht is the setting for the start of the Amstel Gold Race. The finish line of the Amstel Gold Race is in Valkenburg. The Amstel Gold Race is part of the UCI WorldTour.
On Saturday, April 15, the tour version will be ridden with distances of 65, 100, 125, 150, 200 and 240 km. Start of the tour version is in Valkenburg.

The parcours will be marked with signs and (at intersections) traffic controllers and/or police. Traffic is not allowed on the parcours. The following rules apply:
- Please do not allow pets to run loose in the vicinity of the course;
- Be attentive to children playing;
- Do not leave vehicles parked on the course;
- In the unlikely event that you end up on the course with any form of transport, always follow the direction that the runners will follow. Stay behind the riders, keep your distance, moderate your speed and leave the course as soon as possible at the next intersection;
- If a group of riders approaches, stop immediately and move to the side of the road;
- Please follow the instructions given to you at the intersections by police, authorized persons or traffic controllers.
Construction and dismantling of competition site
The construction works of the Amstel Gold Race at the finish location between Berg en Terblijt and Vilt will start at the beginning of April. No roads will be closed for this work. The dismantling starts Monday, April 17, but will hardly lead to any road closures. The bike path from Valkenburg in the direction of Maastricht will be closed from Monday, April 10 until Wednesday, April 19 due to the construction of the tents. Regular bicycle traffic will be diverted via the Meesweg.

If you live within cycling distance, come by bike and get off in the city center. Park your bike in one of the free parking lots near the Market, the station (first 24 hours free of charge), Kesselskade or Vrijthof.
Let yourself be driven by public transport
Don't get behind the wheel yourself and opt for a driver. Maastricht is easily accessible by train and bus.
- From the north Amsterdam/Eindhoven/Roermond/Sittard-Geleen via NS or Arriva trains.
- From Heerlen/Valkenburg and Aachen by train from Arriva.
From the south Eijsden/Visé/Liège by SNCB stopping train or TEC buses. - By bus from Aachen and the route along the N278 with bus line 350.

Parking tips and the shortest route to the parking locations
Coming by car? The parking garages in the city center often fill up quickly, especially on weekends. The tips below will help you save travel time looking for a parking space and therefore have more time in the city center. You can also choose to park nearby, but keep in mind that the parking location of your choice might be full and you will have to deal with long(er) queues and extra travel time.

- If you’re coming from Belgium, follow Brusselseweg in Smeermaas and enter Maastricht via Belvédèrelaan. You’ll get to Maastricht faster, and you won’t have to wait at the ramp meter on Bosscherweg. Take the same road on your way back – it’s just as quick.
