Maastricht is easy to reach by bus, train, bicycle, moped and car. Visitors to the city arriving by car will find plenty of parking options. They can simply follow the signs. The city also offers free, partly covered places to park one’s bicycle.
By car
The A2 means good road links in the directions of Sittard-Geleen and Eindhoven to the north and Liège (Belgium) to the south, while the A79 connects Maastricht with nearby cities such as Heerlen, Aachen and Cologne. There are also good road links towards Tongeren (Belgium).
Maastricht railway station is served by trains from Belgium as well as from the rest of the Netherlands. The central station is within walking distance of the centre and Maastricht-Randwyck station lies within walking distance of the MECC (Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Centre).
Cycling is the cheapest, cleanest, healthiest and fastest form of transport within the city. You can also park your bicycle in the city centre free of charge, in covered, supervised bicycle parks.
The majority of the bus services in Maastricht are run by Veolia Transport. The network of bus routes is so finely meshed that all parts of the city can be easily reached by public transport.
